Login authentication
Unisphere authenticates users attempting to access the system.

When you log in, Unisphere checks the following authorities:
- Windows—The user has a Windows account on the server. (Log in to Unisphere with your Windows Domain\Username and Password.)
- LDAP-SSL—The user account is stored on an LDAP-SSL server (Log in to with your Unisphere LDAP-SSL Username and Password). The Unisphere Administrator or SecurityAdmin must set the LDAP-SSL server location in the LDAP-SSL Configuration dialog box.
- Local—The user has a local Unisphere account. Local user accounts are stored locally on the Unisphere server host. (Log in to Unisphere with your Username and Password.)
- RSA SecurID MFA—If RSA SecurID MFA authentication is enabled, the RSA token must be entered into the password field immediately followed by the user's password.
- YubiKey MFA—If MFA YubiKey authentication is enabled, the one-time password(OTP) (press button on the YubiKey) is entered into the password field immediately followed by the user entering the user password.
User names are case-sensitive and allow alphanumeric characters of either case, an underscore, a dash, or a period:
- a-z
- A-Z
- 0-9
- _
- .
- -
There are no restrictions on special characters when using passwords.
The Initial Setup User (ISU) is used to create the user account or add authorization rules to existing LDAP/AD or Windows operating system users.
